Kick start the Learning Journey of a new language

Learning a new Language can have many reasons. Requirement for a particular job or course, moving to a country or wanting to move to a new country but can't! Or rather just personal interest!
There is always something which makes one to dive in to a new language, experiencing what it was a like to be a child who is learning who to speak.

The first step is taken then! Making up the mind to learn a new language. But then what? Which language to pick, how to start off and where to begin with.

So here we are. I'll put forth some of my findings or rather few ways by which one can facilitate the learning journey!

To begin with let us start with how a language is acquired. The process is LSRW.

Listening  >>   Speaking >>   Reading   >> Writing

First start off by Listening the language. Get yourself accustomed to the sounds and intonation of the language.  This would help you connect with language. When there is an emotional connection, things stick long.

However listen in order to comprehend. What I mean by that is, listen in a way so that you understand what is being said. Use of visual content like dramas or flash cards provides context. The image-sound bonding is quite immense.
You can start your Korean with  some k-drama.

The Listening thus enables Speaking. Here you would feel the need to say those words because you are hearing them. You would wish to imitate.

Once you start speaking a few terms, you would want to perfect your pronunciation by actually reading the word in first the romanization and later on in the target language (since romanization does NOT qualify the actual pronunciation however hard tired.) Here obviously comes the alphabets.

Lastly Writing. Learning alphabets and sentence structure and grammar and everything would seem a pile of task now. But hey! This is a recurring process and lifelong process! You improve when used.

Language learning is a lifelong process. It is a tool to communicate with rather than an act to master. Learning and using a few survival phrases would help you explore more content. Getting more exposure would enable more language intake.

Despite of not seeing or communicating with them much, I wasn't lonely. In fact I thought about other...
