Finally found my favorite Korean Drama!

It is not easy (more like impossible) to point out your favorite movie/book/food or in my case: Korean Drama.  My favorite Korean drama: Mr. Sunshine premiered on air & Netflix on July 7, 2018. I apparently saw it in the start of 2022 yet I'm unable to move on from it. I can rewatch it many times and yet feel the connection. ๐Ÿ˜™ Mr. Sunshine is the PERFECT example of show with strong plot, awesome cast, beautiful visuals and soothing OSTs .  I can talk a lot about this drama even (in Korean too as I am inclined to it !). There are a few Korean words which pop up whenever I reminisce about Mr. Sunshine: ์ˆœ์ง„ํ•œ ( sunjinhan ) - Innocent ๊ทธ๋ฆฝ์†Œ ( geribsoo ) - Miss You (old form) It has 24 episodes which span to an hour and an half covering the era 1871's Korea showcasing the influence of The USA and Japan. The chemistry between the two main protagonist are Lee Byung Hun and Kim Tae Ri is phenomenal and adored by many. There are many fan videos available on YouTube but my favorite o

THE Best Resource to Self Learn Korean

When you are learning a foreign language own your own, it is difficult to find the most suitable resource.  I started off my journey in 2017 wherein I had very limited resources. Mostly were paid or inaccessible and I didn't want to join a tutoring session just yet. It took time finding the best resource - usually I had more than one for a specific purpose.  However now I feel like I've found the One-Stop solution to commencing Korean learning journey for anyone! The website is  Online King Sejong Institute .  I was aware of their mobile app and it was quite useful BUT they Institute offers much more than that.  The website has periodic sessions and various courses to learn Korean at no or nominal cost and provides a Certificate when fulfilled the course criteria.  It provides content in VOD (video on demand) and real time classes along with materials and 1:1 interaction with the instructor. Sessions are available in 6 languages. Language Placement Tests for Beginner & Inte

KDrama & OSTs

Fried Chicken & Beer ( ์น˜๋งฅ ), Pajeon & Makgeolli, Bulgogi & Soju, and Tteokbokki & Gimmari; are some of the heavenly combinations of Korean cuisine. Similarly...! There is the combination of awesome Korean drama & OSTs.  My top 2 KDrama&OST combos are The K2 and Happiness :) The K2 The K2 is one of the dramas which I've seen thrice or maybe more. The first time as the First time, the Second to revise, the Third without subtitles, and so on.  The OSTs just didn't limit to lyrics, there were tunes and tones which fixed the mood. I listen to most of them as my "Work Playlist" on Spotify.  Apart from the story, direction and protagonists, the fan-edits of the drama are amazing too! Check out this fan-edit of The K2 and OSTs ! Happiness This is another of my favorite. The concept of the drama is not new - it is zombies. However it is the comeback drama of Park HyungSik and Han HyoJoo.  This drama has many background scores which would remind you

POV. An unlike combination: Korean drama and Netflix

Do not jump to any conclusions right away! This is something that I observed in few of the korean dramas which were premiered on Netflix. Obviously Netflix is a great platform to screen content exclusively, giving the home theater feeling. However my point over here is how the dynamics of korean drama shifted after the introduction of Netflix.  For starters let's see the good side. Due to Netflix, the korean content is delivered widely and viewed with ease (dramas are released with sync to the on-air scheduled in Korea). One doesn't need to wait long for the content to be subtitled and yes without ads!  Many of my friends who wanted to watch the k-content always were short for sites or apps. I wouldn't ask them to have 2-3 sites and apps in order to watch it right? So yes, Netflix made it uniform. However it just doesn't telecast them but I guess it has some rights and production part in it too.  Some coming to the part of discussion - Korean dramas earlier didn't

Korean Bapsang and Book Exchange!

So how are you all? It's November 2020 and approximately a year since the virus first started and now there is a shift in the living. A lot has changed, for the better and worst, many have sacrificed and/or healed in their on way. This period has made everyone to provide an action or search for purpose in life it might have provided opportunity for one or an answer to their existence - to reflect on. I was provided an chance to spend time with just myself for a period of time and I started off with two things I'm passionate about Reading and Korea. During my first isolation, back in June, when the first unlock happened in India, I understood the meaning of "being connected". It was not just limited to being f2f (which I love) but also virtually but not limited to the Internet. During this period my friends were providing me daily meals by leaving it by the door. Despite of not seeing or communicating with them much, I wasn't lonely. In fact I thought about other
