K-dramas straight out of Webtoon!

Hey there!

Relate to this: You read a book, a favorite of yours. You can imagine how the characters look and can hear their voices too. Years later, this book is turned into a film... You would be a bit excited come on! Watching the protagonist come in to life would be such an experience. 

Maybe it was when Harry Potter was decided to be adapted into a movie or maybe Twilight? Or maybe it is not books but rather comics? Anime is the legend. Watching the characters move about rather than you playing with them. 

In Korea, Manga or comic book is referred to as Webtoon. My first Webtoon was, "Cheese in the Trap" due to its Korean drama adaption. I love the drama despite its odds and can re-watch it. The Webtoon consists of four seasons thus I completed the drama before the webtoon 😜

When I re-watched it though, 2 weeks ago, I sensed something different. I loved the fact that I could relate and anticipate the drama since I read the webtoon. 

So, here are four Korean dramas based on a webtoon:

Hong Seol (Kim Go-Eun) is a hard-working student, who has returned to college after a long break. Yoo Jung (Park Hae-Jin) is a senior at the college known as Mr. Perfect. Seol feels like her life took a turn for the worse since she got involved with Jung. Is Jung intentionally turning Seol's life?

Cheese in the Trap was adapted into a Korean television series and movie.

What's Wrong with Secretary Kim | 김비서가 왜 그럴까

The plot revolves around the ambitious Vice Chairman of a major corporation, Lee Young-joon (Park Seo-Joon), and his highly capable secretary, Kim Mi-so (Park Min-Young). Misunderstandings arise when she announces that she will resign from her position, after working for Lee Young-joon for nine years. Young-joon will do whatever he can to make sure Mi-so stays by his side.

Convenience Store Saet-Byul | 편의점 샛별이

This is an upcoming drama (to be released on June 19th, 2020)

Choi Dae-hyun (Ji Chang-wook) runs into a group of female high school students, including Jung Saet-byul (Kim Yoo-jung), who look like troublemakers. Saet-byul asks Dae-hyun to do an errand for them, which is to buy cigarettes from a convenience store, which he bought and in addtion, gave Saet-byul his number but she never calls him.

Four years later, Dae-hyun runs a small convenience store after resigning. While looking for a part-time worker to work the night shift at his convenience store, Saet-byul applies for the job and starts working there.
